Mrs. El Tobgy has extensive experience of local
and international Banking and Finance. She is familiar with the needs and
constraints of the Egyptian financial and business sector. She served on
several committees for the design and implementation of the first economic
reform in Egypt
in 1991. -
She conducted several studies for different
international financial institutions such as KfW, World Bank, EIB, CIDA,
FINNIDA, covering various fields including, private equity and venture capital,
SMEs access to finance and the design and implementation of different financial
mechanisms. She was also financial advisor to several companies operating in
Egypt. - Mrs. Tobgy was a member of a senior team responsible for establishing Misr International Bank, the second joint venture bank established in Egypt (acquired by Société Générale and recently sold to Qatar National Bank), where she reached the position of The Senior GM and Board member. She was also Deputy Chairman of Misr Bank Europe GmbH, Frankfurt, Germany. Selected to represent the Egyptian banking sector and elected Board Member of the Club Financier Euro-Mediterranean.
- She Led a team for financing several strategic projects. Was member of the board of directors of the Trade Holding Company (ministerial appointment), the Economic Committee of the National Council for Women, the advisory committee formed by ministerial decree to study and recommend means of facilitating credit and finance to SME’s. Was also consultant to UBAE Arab Italian Bank for their business in Egypt. Was Board Member of the Egyptian Businessmen’s Association “EBA” and a Member of the investment committee of the Beltone MidCap fund, an SME Specialized fund targeting this segment in the region. She was also a member of the Advisory Board of Positive Planet and was Deputy Chairman of First Micro Finance, an Egyptian NGO part of the Aghkhan Foundation and Board Member of the Export Development Bank of Egypt (EBE).
- Mrs. El Tobgy was awarded “Chevalier de L’Ordre National de Merite” by the President of the French Republic for her contributions to the enhancement of the relations between Egypt and France in the banking sector. She was also awarded a Certificate of Merit by the President of Egypt for her contribution to the Egyptian banking sector and the Egyptian economy.
